In 1942, Italy sent 12 MC 202 to the Russian Front, to strengthen their fighters squads, previously equipped with the old MC 200. New Folgore were distributed among the 4 squads, and played pretty well against the Russian fighters I-16 , Yak-1 and LaGG-3.
